Bones Creator Says Nostalgia Might Revive the Show

Hart Hanson, the creator of the beloved crime series Bones, recently expressed the possibility of the show returning and reuniting its cast, fueled by nostalgia.

During the Bones reunion WGA picket, Hanson discussed the potential revival of the series. He revealed that the cast members of Bones have remained in contact even after the show ended in 2017. While this provides hope for a potential return, Hanson acknowledged that the current media landscape differs significantly from when the show initially thrived.

The complex ownership situation adds another layer of complexity. As Hanson explained, Bones was originally broadcast by Fox, but with Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, the ownership rights are now entangled. Determining the appropriate platform and navigating legal complexities would require extensive involvement from agents and lawyers. Nevertheless, Hanson stated that conversations about a potential revival continue, driven by occasional bouts of nostalgia. He expressed hope that this momentum might be the catalyst needed to reignite the show.

Emily Deschanel, who portrayed Temperance "Bones" Brennan, the show's lead character, was also present at the picket. Deschanel played a pivotal role in Fox's longest-running drama, alongside David Boreanaz, who portrayed FBI Agent Seeley Booth. Hanson emphasized that any revival of the series would have to involve both actors, as their chemistry was integral to the show's appeal.

While the willingness of the stars to sign on for a reboot remains uncertain, Hanson indicated that there has been indication of their potential interest. He emphasized that the actors would evaluate the scripts, the overall vision, and whether it feels right before committing to a revival.

If all the logistical details can be resolved, fans may once again witness the dynamic duo of forensic anthropologist "Bones" Brennan and pragmatic FBI Agent Seeley Booth collaborating to solve crimes. However, the success of such an endeavor is yet to be determined. Bones is available for streaming on Hulu.
