Fortnite Makes V-Bucks More Expensive in Some Regions

Fortnite players received disappointing news this week as Epic Games announced upcoming price changes for V-Bucks in select regions. The price adjustments will affect players in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Mexico, with changes to the cost of V-Bucks bundles and certain Packs in the Item Shop. The price increases are set to take effect on July 17th, although the United States is not currently included in the regions affected.

According to Epic Games, the price adjustments are driven by economic factors such as inflation and currency fluctuations. Fortunately, the price changes are relatively minor for most cases. For example, in the United Kingdom, the cost of a 1,000 V-Bucks bundle will increase from £6.49 to £6.99, while the price of the 13,500 V-Bucks bundle will rise from £64.99 to £69.99.

The updated V-Bucks prices can be found in the chart provided. Additionally, Epic Games stated that similar pricing changes will apply to Packs such as Dark Reflections, Magma Masters, Lava Legends, Summer Legends, and the Wish, Set, Match Quest Packs once they return to rotation.

Once again, it's worth noting that the United States and several other regions are not included in this price adjustment, providing some relief to players. While price adjustments like these can occur at any time as deemed necessary by Epic Games, they fortunately do not happen too frequently. In the announcement post, Epic Games highlighted that the last significant price adjustment occurred in 2021, with the previous one taking place in 2019. There was also an instance where V-Bucks prices actually decreased, which played a role in resolving the Apple vs. Epic Games dispute but was somewhat overshadowed by subsequent legal battles.

The new V-Bucks prices are set to take effect on July 17th, so if you want to secure V-Bucks at the current lower price, it's advisable to make your purchase before the adjustment occurs.
