Loki Star Owen Wilson Teases We'll Finally Learn More About Mobius in Season 2

With Secret Invasion now streaming on Disney+, the second season of Loki is highly anticipated as the next release from Marvel Studios. The upcoming season will bring back familiar faces, including the return of Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius. While Wilson remains tight-lipped about his role in the new episodes, he hints at a deeper exploration of Mobius' background.

"I had a fantastic time working on the first season of the show," Wilson shares. "I've been fortunate to be a part of many great movies, but this one really stood out for me. And that continued with Season Two, especially since we filmed in London at Pinewood Studios. It was an incredible experience, and Mobius' story delves even deeper this time around."

Initially, Mobius was supposed to have an origin story or at least a few scenes showcasing his family life before joining the TVA. However, the creative team decided to leave it ambiguous, offering more room to explore his character.

"We did discuss various drafts of the script that included glimpses into his family or personal life, but we ultimately decided to keep it open-ended," explained former Loki director Kate Herron. "That uncertainty adds to the emotional impact when Mobius faces the threat of deletion and questions what could have been. We don't know if he had a family or not, and that mystery is exciting because it allows for further character development. It will be fascinating to see where the writers take him."

It remains unclear whether the second season will incorporate any of the previously written scenes from the initial plans for Mobius' backstory.

Tom Hiddleston, a beloved figure among Marvel Studios fans, reprises his role as the mischievous Loki in Season 2. The show, set to premiere on Disney+ on October 6th, follows Loki and Mobius as they strive to maintain the integrity of the timelines. After Sylvie, Loki's variant, kills He Who Remains and triggers the emergence of Kang the Conqueror, the Multiverse hangs in the balance. Once again, Loki must embark on a perilous adventure to prevent the collapse of reality. In the post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Loki and Mobius were seen monitoring one of Kang's enigmatic variants. Season 2 of Loki will continue the captivating story of the Multiverse Saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
