Netflix's Sweet Magnolias Adds Fresh Prince Star Janet Hubert for Season 3


Aunt Viv is set to make her debut on Netflix in the upcoming third season of Sweet Magnolias. The highly popular dramedy series will soon grace screens once again, and in addition to the beloved cast, a renowned veteran of the TV industry will be joining them in a significant role. Janet Hubert, best known for originating the role of Aunt Vivian on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has been added to the Sweet Magnolias ensemble for Season 3.

According to Variety, Hubert will have a guest starring role in Sweet Magnolias Season 3. She will portray Bec Decatur, the mother of Helen Decatur, one of the show's central characters. In the new season, Helen will travel to Tampa, Florida to seek support from her mother during a challenging period. The exact number of episodes featuring Hubert has not yet been disclosed.

Hubert portrayed Vivian Banks during the initial three seasons of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, after which the role was recast for the fourth season. Daphne Reid took over the character for the remainder of the series. Hubert and the show's lead, Will Smith, reunited during a special reunion episode in 2020.
