Netflix's Under the Radar Witcher Season 3 Trailer Reveals New Chapter 2 Footage

Earlier today, fans of The Witcher were treated to the first trailer for the highly anticipated second chapter of Season 3, offering a glimpse of the upcoming epic battle. Surprisingly, there's another trailer that reveals even more. Thanks to Twitter user @perseruna, who stumbled upon it on Netflix's official website, fans can now enjoy additional footage to help pass the time until the second chapter premieres later this month.

The newly discovered trailer features a number of crossover scenes, along with fresh glimpses of Geralt engaged in a one-on-one fight, intriguing shots of the creature pursuing Ciri in the desert, further glimpses of the battle at Aretuza, and captivating exchanges between Geralt and Ciri. Stregobor also has a notable moment, and the scene of Geralt dramatically unsheathing his sword is impressively slick in its own right.

In my opinion, this trailer surpasses the previous one, effectively capturing the tension and high stakes that will unfold in Chapter 2. It offers significant hints about major events from the books that occur after the conclusion of Chapter 1. You can watch the complete trailer in the above post.

Two pivotal characters in Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 are Dijkstra and Philippa, portrayed by the talented Graham McTavish and Cassie Clare in the series. In an interview, McTavish and Clare discussed their roles in Season 3 and how Geralt and Ciri influence their characters' plans. They expressed their preparation to tackle any challenges that may arise, showcasing their dedication to portraying Dijkstra and Philippa in the best possible way.

"Well, Dijkstra is actively working toward his overarching objective concerning Redania, attempting to enlist Geralt into his plan," shared McTavish. "He believes that Philippa and himself are aligned on parallel tracks. However, he begins to suspect that she might have a slightly different agenda. That's as much as I can reveal about her character. It's like any relationship where you think you understand the dynamics, but then there's a moment that forces you to reassess. You go, 'Oh, right. Okay.'"

"I would say that, as you mentioned the super objective, Philippa has had a long-standing plan that has been in motion even before we encounter her in the series. Its groundwork starts to surface in Season Two, with hints of an owl collecting intelligence. But this plan has been in progress for quite some time before that. In Season Three, it's satisfying to see them actively stirring the pot, executing actions they've meticulously planned together to achieve their joint super objective. As for Philippa's personal objective, I won't reveal any further details at this point.

Below, you can find the official description for The Witcher Season 3.

"As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri's magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where they hope to uncover more about the girl's untapped powers; instead, they discover they've landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line – or risk losing each other forever."

The Witcher Season 3 is divided into two chapters. Chapter 1, comprising episodes 1 through 5, is currently available for streaming on Netflix. On the other hand, Chapter 2, consisting of episodes 6 through 8, is set to premiere on Netflix on July 27th.
