New Ahsoka Images Highlight the Series’ Major Characters

New images from the highly anticipated Ahsoka series on Disney+ have recently surfaced, showcasing some of the key Star Wars characters, along with a familiar mural.

A series of fresh promotional stills have been unveiled, giving fans a glimpse of the central characters from the upcoming Ahsoka series on Disney+.

Among the new images, three of them particularly highlight the titular character Ahsoka Tano, portrayed by Rosario Dawson. In one still, Ahsoka is seen alongside a hologram of her ally Hera Syndulla, with an unidentified protocol droid appearing in the background. Another image showcases Ahsoka wielding her iconic white-bladed lightsaber with determination.

Hera, portrayed by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, takes the spotlight in one of the photos. The image showcases her character in the Ahsoka series on Disney+. Additionally, the antagonists Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati, played by the late Ray Stevenson and Ivanna Sakhno, respectively, are featured in another still.

The final image highlights Natasha Liu Bordizzo's portrayal of Sabine Wren. Sabine is depicted standing in front of the Lothalian mural she had previously painted in Lothal City. This artwork was first seen in the final story arc of the animated series Star Wars: Rebels, titled "Family Reunion and Farewell." Sabine's mural prominently showcases two loth-wolves flanking the Ghost crew, the central characters of the series.

Ahsoka Furthers the Story of Star Wars: Rebels

Ahsoka builds upon the narrative established in Rebels, showcasing the beloved characters from that series. Hera, Sabine, and the long-lost Ezra Bridger, portrayed by Eman Esfandi, are among the returning heroes. Additionally, the show introduces the live-action depiction of Grand Admiral Thrawn, portrayed by Lars Mikkelsen, who lent his voice to the esteemed Imperial Officer in Rebels.

Hayden Christensen is set to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the series as well. Genevieve O'Reilly, known for her portrayal of Mon Mothma in Disney+'s Andor, will also return to her role.

Rebels unfolded between the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: A New Hope, focusing on the emergence of rebel factions that stood against the Galactic Empire's rise. The series delved into Ahsoka's return after the galaxy-spanning Clone Wars and her eventual departure from the Jedi Order. It spanned four seasons.

Rosario Dawson made her live-action debut as Ahsoka in the second season of Disney+'s The Mandalorian. Her character took the Force-sensitive foundling Grogu to be trained by Jedi Luke Skywalker, though Grogu ultimately chose to return to Mandalorian Din Djarin's side.

Ahsoka Tano was initially introduced in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars in 2008. She became Anakin's Padawan and played a prominent role throughout the subsequent Clone Wars series. The voice of the Jedi-in-training was provided by Ashley Eckstein.

Ahsoka takes place concurrently with the events of The Mandalorian and is slated for eight episodes. The series is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on Aug. 23.
