New Warhammer Game Announced

A brand new miniatures game, Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Legions Imperialis, has been announced by Games Workshop. This upcoming game aims to recreate the colossal battles of the Horus Heresy, a pivotal event in the Warhammer 40K lore. Unlike traditional Warhammer 40K and Warhammer: The Horus Heresy battles that represent smaller skirmishes, Legions Imperialis brings the entire conflict to the table. It achieves this through smaller scale miniatures featuring multiple infantry units on a single base, alongside towering mech units like Titans.

The Horus Heresy showcases a significant turning point in the Warhammer 40K narrative, focusing on a devastating civil war within the Imperium. During this conflict, roughly half of the Imperial Legions betrayed the Emperor of Man, resulting in a drastic reduction in the forces of Mankind. This event also serves as the origin story for the Chaos Space Marines that plague the far-flung future of Warhammer 40K. Games Workshop offers a line of Warhammer: Horus Heresy miniatures, allowing players to paint and customize them to represent any of the 18 Imperial Legions involved in the conflict.

Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Legions Imperialis is set to launch in August with a comprehensive Launch box. The box includes a staggering total of 233 miniatures, divided between the Space Marines, Solar Auxilia, and Titans. The contents consist of 106 Space Marine infantry and walkers, five Space Marine tanks, 104 Solar Auxilia infantry and walkers, six Solar Auxilia tanks, and two Warhound Titans.

Furthermore, Games Workshop has confirmed that all terrain options from the previous Epic Scale game, Adeptus Titanicus, will be compatible with Legions Imperialis. Additionally, players will have the option to incorporate miniatures from Adeptus Titanicus and Aeronautica Imperialis into their games, expanding the possibilities for epic battles in the Warhammer universe.
