Nier: Automata Anime Will Air the Rest of Season 1 at Once

The Nier series revolves around a world where humanity struggles against the rise of dominant robots on Earth. Nier: Automata, originally released as a video game, received an anime adaptation to expand on the story of the popular character, 2B. However, the adaptation has encountered several challenges along the way, including delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic and other obstacles. As a result, Nier: Automata Ver 1.1a is now planning to conclude its first season with a full release.

A-1 Pictures, the studio responsible for this recent video game adaptation, issued a statement earlier this year addressing the delays. Acknowledging the impact of COVID-19 on production, the studio conveyed to fans, "Due to the effects of COVID-19 on our production, we have made the decision to postpone the broadcast and distribution of episode 9 and all subsequent episodes. We appreciate your understanding." Currently, there has been no confirmation from the production studio regarding a potential second season of the series. However, the expansive world of Nier holds great potential for further exploration should the television show continue.
