Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Gets a New Update, But it Doesn't Do Much

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet received a recent update on the Nintendo Switch, but unfortunately, the latest patch doesn't bring significant improvements. After the release of the latest mainline Pokemon titles last year, developer Game Freak assured fans that they would regularly release updates to enhance the quality of the games. Initially, both Scarlet and Violet faced performance issues upon launch, leading to disappointment among many fans. Although Game Freak has been consistently rolling out patches throughout 2023, today's update seems to offer minimal changes for now.

Update version 1.3.2 for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has just been released and is now available for download on the Nintendo Switch. This update marks the first significant update since May 2023. Unfortunately, this patch primarily focuses on making "mechanic adjustments for upcoming live tournaments," without introducing any other notable changes. As a result, it can be considered one of the more minor post-release updates we have seen thus far.

Looking ahead, players can anticipate more substantial updates for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet later in 2023 as Game Freak prepares to launch The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk expansions. While specific details about these expansions are currently limited, it is known that they will expand the roster of Pokemon available in Scarlet and Violet, along with introducing new Legendary creatures to capture. Although specific release dates for The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk have yet to be announced, they are scheduled to debut on the Switch in fall 2023 and winter 2023, respectively.
