Spy x Family Creator Welcomes Anya to Street Fighter in New Sketch

During this year's Anime Expo, an unexpected crossover between the realms of video games and anime was announced. With the recent release of the highly anticipated game Street Fighter 6, the Forger Family finds themselves participating in the prestigious world tournament. Although Capcom has yet to confirm whether any of the Forgers will become playable characters in the fighting game, Spy x Family's creator, Tatsuya Endo, has taken matters into his own hands, envisioning Anya as a formidable "World Warrior."

The Street Fighter franchise has a history of delving into the world of anime, starting with the iconic Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie in 1994. This was followed by subsequent anime adaptations such as Street Fighter II V, Street Fighter Alpha: The Animation, and Street Fighter: The New Challengers, among others. While a promotional image showcasing Yor Forger facing off against Chun-Li has been revealed, details regarding the extent of the collaboration between Capcom's legendary fighting game and Spy x Family's upcoming movie, set to release in Japan later this year, remain scarce. If any of the Forgers were to enter the realm of Street Fighter, they would undoubtedly face the most challenging battles of their lives.

Tatsuya Endo, the mangaka who continues to weave the captivating narrative of the Forger Family in the official manga series, recently shared new artwork featuring Anya. Endo went the extra mile by outfitting the youngest member of the Forger Family in an attire reminiscent of Chun-Li's iconic outfit from the Street Fighter franchise. In a tweet accompanying the artwork, Endo revealed his personal connection to the Street Fighter series, stating, "When I was a child, I used to play Street Fighter Third Strike 2. Even during my study of drawing, I would pour over the pages of Capcom Design Works until they were tattered and worn."

Spy x Family has an exciting year in store for fans in 2023. Alongside the highly anticipated second season set to debut this fall, the Forger Family will also grace the big screen with their first film, Spy x Family Code: White, slated for release in the winter. With the franchise's resounding success, it is safe to assume that more animated adventures await Loid, Yor, Anya, and Bond in the future.
