Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2, Episode 5 Preview Teases Human Spock, Amanda Grayson's Return

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2, Episode 5, titled "Charades," is set to premiere on Paramount+ this Thursday. Exciting preview materials for the episode have been released, revealing the return of Amanda Grayson (Mia Kirshner), Spock's mother, who arrives just in time to witness her son's transformation into a human. The released photos indicate that "Charades" once again delves into Spock's relationship with his bonded partner, T'Pring (Gia Sandhu). According to the episode's plot summary, a significant dinner takes place after Spock undergoes a procedure to remove his Vulcan DNA following an accident.

In the context of Amanda Grayson's involvement, it is plausible that the other Vulcans seen in the accompanying photos (T'Pril, played by Ellora Patniak, and Sevet, played by Michael Benyaer) are T'Pring's parents. Notably, Captain Pike is also present, sporting his characteristic green wraparound tunic.

The episode "Charades" was penned by Kathryn Lyn and Henry Alonso Myers, with direction by Jordan Canning. Paramount+ has provided an official synopsis for the episode, stating, "A shuttle accident leads to aliens removing Spock's Vulcan DNA, rendering him fully human and completely unprepared to face T'Pring's family during an important ceremonial dinner." Below, you can find a selection of photos from the episode, a teaser shared by Anson Mount, and a clip that was premiered on last week's episode of The Ready Room.
